Low Cost Rabies & Microchip Clinics in Ontario – 2017

by | News |

Having your pet vaccinated for rabies, and getting a microchip, are both important part of pet ownership! To encourage owners to get this done, Pet Valu and PetSmart stores are hosting low cost rabies and microchip clinics this year.

Rabies Vaccinations and/or Microchips are $25 EACH per animal (including HST).

  • Rabies Vaccinations and Microchips can be purchased individually – you do not have to get both.
  • These clinics are on a cash only basis and will be administered first come, first serve.
  • Dogs must be on a leash or in a carrier. Cats must be in a carrier.
  • The clinics are sponsored by Dr. Jeff Rabinovitch, DVM from Bridletown Warden Animal Hospital, and Urban Animal Corporation. They are providing a lifetime subscription on HomeSafe™, a global cloud-based registration and recovery service.

HomeSafe™ provides the only on-line automated recovery system that allows all members of the community to post their own lost and found reports. It facilitates instant sharing of pet information among the general public and organizations in the community, and across North America when a pet goes missing.

    Why vaccinate against rabies?

In Ontario, law requires vaccination of all cats and dogs which are 3 months of age or older.

    • Rabies is a deadly disease in both humans and animals and has been found in over 275 Ontario animals.

    • Raccoons, foxes, bats, and skunks are the most common carriers.

    • Up to date vaccinations will protect pets from acquiring rabies if they are bitten by a rabid wild animal.

I stand behind SPCA with my monthly gift

I stand behind SPCA with my monthly gift. I am so happy there are folks like you to care for those who can’t help themselves.  My family and I have had animals all our lives and know what a comfort they are.  Thank you SPCA.
